Sometimes it doesn’t take long before I’ll throw a design concept into the trash bin. A few years ago I needed to make a set of icons for the web that looked like toys, and I thought it would be interesting to build 3d models instead of creating them in Illustrator or Photoshop. Well, I realized pretty quickly that the 3d models weren’t going to work after creating these three and I abandoned this design direction before ultimately creating vector illustrations from scratch.
But I didn’t totally hate them. These icons do have kind of a unique style to them, and since the details are so large and bold, they scale down really well to very small sizes and are still very clear. I always thought I would finish the set for another project, but…it’s been three years and I really don’t have a clue what I’d ever use these for. So – if you need a mobile phone icon, magnifying glass icon, and a padlock icon, this set has got you covered.
